Norton Ghost 12 Dos Version Of Word

1 Jan 2000admin

Umm, the current version works with Win2000, so why do you really need the DOS version? Zag2me Commented: 2003-06-12 Norton Ghost is not free, but it is very cheap, less than your typical PC game i would think. Norton ghost 12 manual pdf The software described in this book is furnished under a license agreement and may be used only in accordance with the terms.Symantec, the Symantec logo, Norton Ghost, and Norton.

Does anyone know if a USB 2.0 hard drive will work as a drive for Norton Ghost 2003? I want to make a complete image of the drive incase of a system drive failure. This way I can slip in the USB drive removed from its case, and boot. I am not sure about the drive you mention. You may want to try Norton's site and search their forums and suppt articles.

Symantec maintains a list of compatible hardware. One thing to consider about using a USB drive. If you need to enable the Norton Ghost USB drivers, they will disable/conflict with your keyboard and mouse if you are using usb versions of each. If not, no conflict.

If you are using a usb keyboard and/or mouse, you will need a PS2 version to have a keyboard and mouse to use while in Ghost's DOS mode and having the USB drivers to access your usb drive. I use Ghost to a CD-RW with the USB drivers within Ghost turned off.

My keyboard and mouse then work just great. When I had the USB support within Ghost turned on, I did not have a keyboard or mouse to use since they are both USB based. IMNSHO Norton Ghost is a great product! 'Symantec maintains a list of compatible hardware' I could not find any such list on their website. Also, I receive a worthless email from their support that my external USB 2.0 harddrive is probably not compatible with the system. Isn't that great!

I am going to investigate other back up means for my laptop that cannot have a second hard drive installed like my desktop. Norton works great on a system that has 2 drives internally or if you use Zip Omega external USB 2.0 drives. I am very disappointed and would love to see another alternative. Drive image 7.0? What is that? I use System Works 2003 (Norton Ghost 2003 is contained in it) and it should be an easy set up, so I thought.

I have 3 issues. I cannot easily and readily make a bootable CD (I do not have a floppy drive on my laptop nor do I have access to one).

Norton does not support making bootable CD's for users like myself who do not have floppies. The Norton guy told me that floppies are a very viable technology and are not being phased out at all. I guess that 1.44 meg file is fantastic. I can't even fit one picture from my digital camera on that nor one project from work.

What rock is he living under and I bet he still has a 5 1/2 inch floppy in his 486 at home. Give me a break. Once I tried to use the bootable System Works Disk, it did not recognize my USB 2.0 Hard drive (because of reason # 3 below). Et king single collection rar The technical support person from Norton, told me that I should either buy and Omega hard drive or return my software. Imagine that.

He told me that I was out of luck pretty much. I was very disappointed and frustrated. Anyhow, now that I have properly vented at Norton, what is Drive image 7.0, again? Is there something besides Norton or an addition to Norton Ghost? Can you explain it a bit more? Thanks for your help and patience, Robert.

From Rob in Texax: 'I wanted to tell you that the app that you directed to looks fantastic, but I have already spent so much money on the my Norton package; therefore, I purchased an Iomega drive yesterday and it clones perfectly to my laptop as an external hard drive using USB 2.0. It is a bummer that Norton is so proprietary and may not make good business sense for their future, unless they plan to aquire all of their competition as they did with the app that you recommended. ' Are you really sure that Norton Ghost 2003 doen't work with external HDD USB, even the drivers can be added manually?? This would confirm my troubles: I don't find DOS-driver for my Lacie HDD USB!! But everybody tell me that there is no problem between Norton Ghost 2003 and USB ext. HDD, it must work!! So, is it a problem in the BIOS??

If yes, which parameter have I to change to insure automatic boot? Or, really the ext.

USB HDD aren't compatible with DOS, so with Norton Ghost or, the Lacie HDD only can't work with Norton Ghost??? Serge - Switzerland (sorry for bad english synthaxe).
